Q
How does the selection process work?
A

KennyBear Doodles hopes to make this process a fun and stress-free experience.

Once a deposit is sent and weve determined that your pup will be going to a great home, youll be put on a waiting list and notified about pending litters.

We will post new pictures and videos of the litter each week to our website, to (hopefully!) help the waiting process move a bit faster.

We believe the imprinting process is extremely important to each dogs socialization and development, so we do not allow pups to be sent to their new home prior to 8 weeks of age.

Q
What is your adoption fee?
A

Our adoption fees vary by litter type.  This fee covers the puppiesinitial check-up and declawing at 3-5 days old and their second vet visit, which includes a complete health check along with their first set of shots and worming.

Please note that posted adoption fees are subject to processing fees.

Q
What supplies will I need when i bring my puppy home?
A
  • Food and water bowls
  • Old towels or blankets
  • Chew toys
  • Puppy shampoo
  • A crate with divider to provide for puppy growth.
  • Leash and collar.
Q
What health testing is performed prior to breeding?
A

Before breeding, our dam and sire have been health-screened. Additionally, our dam has undergone EMBARK genetic testing, which screens for over 200 genetic conditions.

Q
What is the difference between limited and unlimited registration?
A

Limited Registration means that the dog is registered by the CKC, but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. Breeding is a very complicated and serious decision. So many people have decided to breed dogs because of the financial benefits. An ethical breeder does not breed to make income- they breed to advance only the healthiest doodles to the happiest homes.  At this time, we are not including breeding rights with our litters.

Q
Does KennyBear Doodles ship puppies?
A

As a general rule, we do not ship puppies. We would like at least one member of your family to come to our home to pick up your pup.  However, we might consider flying a puppy to your location by private carrier.  Most airlines allow your puppy to fly in a pet carrier in the area under the seat ahead of you.

We really like our families to come to visit the home in which your new family member has been raised and get to know your pups dam.

We also enjoy meeting the families we have had so much communication with building up to this special day.

Q
Why is imprinting important?
A

Puppies are very impressionable for the first 16 weeks of life. We take the care and responsibility of our pups very seriously and we realize that our care is all that they will know during those first formative weeks.

It is our goal to introduce them to a world of healthy discovery, good behavior, and positive experiences. Both positive and negative experiences are etched into their memories that will enormously impact what kind of companion that puppy will ultimately be.

Puppies imprint to:

  • their mother
  • their littermates
  • people
  • sounds
  • animals
  • places

This process builds trust between the puppy, owner, and environment and this trust builds confidence and relationships, encouraging healthy development.

We focus on human touch: gentle handling, providing a warm comfort, and introducing them to our touch and smell. They are exposed to daily challenges, sounds, environments, car rides, children, strangers, grooming/baths, veterinary checks, and a host of other socialization practices.
